Functional Trainers and All-in-One Home Gyms: Apollo Series

Apollo Series by BRIXX®

Functional trainers and all-in-one home gyms from the BRIXX Apollo Series. The Apollo combines a Smith machine with dual cable crossover stations. It has two independent 90kg weight stacks in 5kg steps, J-hooks and safety catches for barbell lifts, a 6-grip pull-up bar and plate storage pegs.

The Apollo Core is a more compact functional trainer. It has the same dual 90kg stacks, J-hooks for squats and bench press, a pull-up bar and built-in plate storage.

Prefer free weights? The Apollo Power Rack is built from 75 x 75 x 3mm steel, with 1-inch hole spacing and a 129 x 104 x 236cm footprint, in matte black or white. You can add a plate-loaded lat pulley and low row. Packages add the Everest Commercial Bench, a 20kg Olympic barbell, collars and bumper plates.

FAQs

  • It's a cable machine with two independent weight stacks, so each arm or side works on its own. You can do presses, flys, rows, pulldowns, curls and rotational work from almost any angle. The Apollo and Apollo Core both have dual 90kg stacks that adjust in 5kg steps.

  • The Apollo adds a Smith machine to the dual cable stations. It also has J-hooks and safety catches for barbell work and a 6-grip pull-up bar. The Apollo Core is the more compact option, with the same dual 90kg stacks, J-hooks for squats and bench, a pull-up bar and built-in plate storage. If you want a Smith machine, get the Apollo. If space matters more, get the Core.

  • The Apollo runs a 2:1 pulley system. That means the resistance you feel at the handle is roughly half the weight you've pinned on the stack, and the cable travels twice as far. That's normal for functional trainers and gives you the long range of motion you want for cable work. Don't compare the stack number directly with a gym's 1:1 cable machine.
